Home Working
The Covid-19 pandemic gave rise to the largest remote work experiment in history, and we saw global emissions fall. Logic would suggest that home working saves energy and time from commuting and this is largely true.
More in-depth research has found that hybrid work can actually lead to increased emissions as duplicating on equipment and home office requiring more liveable space.
That been said, if you have a car commute to work and have the option for home working this will generally lead to reduced carbon emissions.
Reduced waste
Avoiding use of single-use plastics and other food packaging is significantly easier when work from home. Your morning coffee comes in your favourite Ninja mug instead of a disposable Starbucks cup. In general, you produce less waste while in the comforts of home.
